Torn bicep or not, one feline is still the head chef of this BBQ and his name is Cat Chord Chris.
Bryant’s Tiny Grill put up 153 points this week and has a 2-0 record going into week 3. Their lineup of Jackosn, Gibbs, and Aubrey (who is a legitimate fantasy asset) is proving to be very potent in the early stages of the season. Can he keep this cookout going? Judging by the size of his grill, it might be tough.
Bryant’s Tiny Grill performed well this week, but they were NOT the highest scoring team this week. That honor goes to Pitt of Dispair who scored 168 points this week and won the weekly prize pot. Corey’s teams have a history of high scoring weeks leading all the way back to the earliest days of this league. Can they ride this success? Is this the best their team will be all year? Will they ever realize that despair is spelled wrong in their name? Time will tell.
Two other teams are 2-0 and deserve honor as well. Captain Morgan and Show Me Your TDs. Captain Morgan has the highest PPG in the league right now and Show Me Your TDs got 43 points out of Jarad Geoff this week!! FORTY THREE!!!!
Meanwhile, Joey and and I suck. I mean we’re really bad. The FAKS are averaging 105 points a game and Grand Admiral Jawn is averaging 103 points a game. The FAKs have the fouth highest roster score so there’s at least hope for me that my team is a sleeping giant. Joey’s team is just sleeping.
The rest of the Power Rankings are below.
Before I sign off, I want to share one thought. It’s been a challenging week for a lot of people. Things are kinda wild out there, at least from my seat.
One of the things I love most about our group is how eclectic and diverse it is in ideologies, beliefs, even reading comprehension levels. We all value different things and see the world through different lenses. In some ways, that’s our superpower. The same group where someone is cracking a joke about my tiny grill is also a place where you’re never far from an opportunity to gain insight, ask a question, or see the world a little differently.
If someone’s struggling with the political climate and you don’t understand why—ask them. If someone’s completely at peace right now and you don’t understand why they’re not flipping tables and posting nonstop, ask them where they’re finding joy and focus instead. You might gain valuable insight that can make your view more holistic or at least help you to understand people better.
Humility is the first step to learning and growing. It asks, “What am I missing?” before it points a finger or assumes others “don’t get it.” I’m not trying to be right. I’m trying to do my best—and I can’t do that without learning and growing. And neither can any of us.
On to week three. Which is our bonus week, BTW.
