Our 2024 Champion: Justin Brostek!

The Epic Story of 2024: Kachow’s Championship Triumph

Every Fantasy Football season unfolds like a storybook—week by week, plot twists abound, leading to one grand and unforgettable finale. 2024, our 13th year, was no exception.

A massive congratulations to Justin Brostek and his team, Kachow, for finishing their story and claiming their second Championship in this league.

Justin’s journey this year was nothing short of remarkable. Kachow started the season ranked DEAD LAST after Week 1, managing just 75 points while starting Caleb Williams at quarterback. But Justin had a trick up his sleeve: during the draft, he made the strategic choice to pick two quarterbacks with upside. That decision paid off, as his second QB—Jayden Daniels—emerged as a key starter and game-changer.

Throughout the year, Justin continued to reshape his roster, making savvy trades for Josh Jacobs, Aaron Jones, and Brian Thomas. This core helped Kachow dominate the Boogie Division, earning the #1 overall seed and a coveted first-round bye in the playoffs.

The Playoff Journey

In the semifinals, Kachow faced an unexpected challenger: Kyle Murkve and his team, Hawk Tua. Kyle had pulled off an impressive upset over Adam’s team in the first round and entered the matchup as a slight favorite.

Despite Hawk Tua’s strong performance (scoring 120 points), Justin’s team was unstoppable. Behind monster performances from Jayden Daniels (44 points), De’Von Achane (28 points), and Brian Thomas (23 points), Kachow secured a dominant 148–120 victory. Justin’s lead was so commanding that he didn’t even need to start a second running back or kicker!

The Championship Game

The stage was set for an epic finale. Kachow would face another Cinderella story: Kyle Morgan and his team, Blue’s Chews.

Kyle had clawed his way into the playoffs with a must-win victory in Week 14, snagging the 6th and final seed. From there, he shocked the league by defeating his brother Scott in Round 1 and then Joey in the semifinals—both times as a heavy underdog. By the time he reached his second-ever Championship game, Kyle had already exceeded expectations. He had nothing to lose and everything to gain.

And so, the Championship Round began.

Both teams battled fiercely throughout the week, trading blows as the games unfolded. By Monday night, Justin’s team held a solid lead. But Kyle still had a glimmer of hope—Jameson Williams needed to deliver a historic performance to pull off the upset.

And deliver he did.

Williams started the night with an early touchdown, giving Kyle and Blue’s Chews life. Then, in a play for the ages, Jared Goff threw a quick pass to Amon-Ra St. Brown, who lateraled the ball to a streaking Jameson Williams. Williams took it to the house for his second touchdown of the game, putting Kyle in the lead!

The foundation of Fool Town was shaken. For a fleeting moment, it seemed like the league’s ultimate underdog was destined to finally win it all.

But then, Amon-Ra St. Brown took center stage.

The star receiver began racking up targets in the second half, steadily chipping away at Kyle’s lead. Every catch brought Justin closer. By the fourth quarter, the league watched in suspense as St. Brown’s final reception sealed the deal.

The final score: 131.18 – 130.18.

KACHOW HAD WON.

The Closest Championship in League History

With a razor-thin margin of just one point, this was the closest Championship game in the history of our league.

Justin had prevailed, cementing his legacy with a second Championship title. His journey from last place in Week 1 to ultimate victory is a testament to strategy, perseverance, and the magic of Fantasy Football.

Congratulations, Justin and Team Kachow! You are a worthy champion, and we celebrate the incredible story you told this season.
