(AI Prompt = Lightning McQueen as a conquering warrior)
Last week we had the start of a new era in our league. Our favorite stimulant addicted undocumented immigrant was standing a top the rankings like a conquering king. But alas, those who burn brightest burn out fastest (and probably need to go back to rehab). Koukain Flain has fallen.
And the void left on the throne has been filled by someone very comfortable in the seat. Ladies and Gentleman, Kachow is once again at the top of this week’s Power Rankings. But his hold on the top of the league is tenuous at best, because both Scott and Joey also have eight wins and are gunning for his throne.
There are TWO weeks left in the regular season. Two weeks left to make some noise and get into the post season. Let’s take a look at each division to see how things are shaping up:
The Boogie Division
The aforementioned Kachow currently sits atop of the Boogie Division with eight wins. Corey can’t win the division as he only has five wins. But if I win out and Justin loses out we can have the same amount of wins. The Boogie Division is kinda weird because everyone split their division match ups with one win and one loss. So, if there’s a tie it’ll come down to points scored. Justin has a HUGE advantage here with a 138 point lead on me. Justin is probably gonna win this division and make the playoffs with a high seed.
The Suck It Bryant Division
Murkve sits atop this division with seven wins. Chris is out cuz he’s an idiot. But, believe it or not, Kyle Morgan is still kinda in this with six wins. He’d need to have more wins straight up than Murkve though because Murkve has beaten him TWICE this year. So it’ll come down to the final two games in this division for the Kyles.
The You’d Cream Division
Joey has won this division with eight wins. Neither Nathan or Jensen can catch him as they both have five wins. Both Nathan and Jensen can still make the playoffs if they win out and some things break in their favor.
The MDF Division
Hey Austin is out. He has three wins. BUT, Adam and Scott will duke it out for the winner of this division over the next two weeks. Scott currently has the advantage with eight wins. Adam has seven wins and will need Scott to drop at least one game over the next two to have a hope of stealing the division from him. If they tie, it’ll come down to points scored because they split their divisional games. Scott currently has a 36 point head start on Adam. Who wins this division is kind of anyone’s guess.
And that’s the state of our league right now. But, one final note before I go.
It’s no secret that 2024 has been a challenging year for many of us. For me at least, from global uncertainties to personal hurdles, it’s felt like constantly navigating a long storm at sea. And with the year drawing to a close, it’s easy to focus on what’s gone wrong, what’s still uncertain, or what hasn’t gone the way we hoped (like Rodgers in NY). But in the midst of all this, there can be something powerful about taking a moment to pause—and reflect on what we can be grateful for (like Bryce Young’s development, he typed in faith).
Many of us are spending time with families and loved ones this week. But, even if you don’t have the chance to slow down, or your Eric is leaving to spend time with Satan herself, this week can still be a gift. Even if just a small one.
No matter how tough things have been, there’s always something to be thankful for—whether it’s a small act of kindness, a personal achievement, or simply the people who make fun of you every day on your phone. The trick is to slow down and find it.
It doesn’t have to be anything grand or life-changing. Sometimes, gratitude is found in the smallest of moments: a cup of coffee shared with a friend, a quiet walk in nature, remembering that stickers exist on Messages and making a sticker of big headed kid George Lopez to apply to every text Joey sends for the rest of our lives.
This week, let’s all take a few minutes to find just one or two things—big or small—that bring us a sense of gratitude. It won’t change everything, but it can help us shift our focus and bring a little more peace into our hearts.
After all, sometimes the best way to move forward is to first take a moment to look back at the good we’ve experienced in the midst of whatever bad we’re currently navigating. Happy Thanksgiving, everyone. Love you all.
Also, please don’t trade players for one week for a bit. Thanks.
