(AI Prompt = Supreme Coffee)
Hey. Justin’s team is really good and he keeps winning.
He’s the only team in our league with seven wins and his team is averaging 116 points a game. He’s running away with the Boogie Division and baring some serious injuries to his team (GET ON IT JENSEN) it’s looking like the 2022 Champ might have something to say about how this season ends.
ALAS, he is not the only juggernaut who would like to make his mark on 2024. Scott’s team had a down couple of weeks to be sure. But this week he reminded us why he spent the early part of the year absolutely crushing the league. His team put up 160 points this week, is averaging 119 on the year, and is one of FOUR teams to have put up over 1000 points in total so far this year. Might we see a Scott vs Justin Championship game?
Speaking of the Championship game, you don’t get there unless you make the playoffs (and even then I dont get there). So let’s take a look at the current Playoff landscape. As a reminder, each division winner makes the playoffs plus the other 2 teams with the best records / tie breaks. Tie breaks are: 1. Head to Head 2. Points Scored. This is what the bracket might look like if the season ended today:
1 Justin
BYE
4 Scott
5 Adam
3 Joey
6 Bryant
BYE
2 Murkve
Justin would get the first seed because he is the only team with seven wins. But after that, things get a little wild.
Joey, Murkve, and Scott all have six wins. So, it comes down to tie breaks, the first being head to head. Scott lost to both Joey and Murkve, so they have the tie break over him. Joey and Murkve haven’t actually played yet, so for the sake of this argument we go to the second tie break which is points scored which Murkve wins. Murkve gets the second seed, Joey gets the third, and Scott drops all the way to fourth (head to head matchups matter, fools).
As for the wildcard spot, both Adam and myself have five wins. He holds the head to head tie break over me. Adam gets the 5th seed (and is rewarded by playing Scott in the first round) and I get the 6th seed (hi, Joey).
With four games left though, this bracket can and will still change a lot before we get to week 15 and the start of the playoffs.
