AI Prompt: acknowledge him evil king
We’re six weeks into the season now and it’s time we all acknowledge him! And by him, I mean SCOTT.
He’s the only team with five wins and he’s averaging 123 points per game. That kinda PPG isn’t a fluke. It’s not good matchups. It’s the mark of a real contending team. Kamara, Walker, Barkley. These three running backs are anchoring his team and in an era where Fantasy Football in general is a little down on Running Backs, this dude said “What if I just don’t draft anything but that” and it’s paying off for him. There’s still plenty of football to play, but 42% of the way through the regular season it’s time we really acknowledge the greatness of Scotts team and his draft.
Speaking of being 42% of the way through the regular season, I figured this would be a good opportunity to remind us what it normally takes to get into the playoffs in our league. As a reminder, six teams make the playoffs. The four division winners and the other two teams with the best record / tie break scenario. Our tie breaks are head-to-head and then total points scored. The two division winners with the best records / tie break scenarios get first round byes.
Traditionally in our league you need EIGHT wins to make the playoffs. Sometimes seven gets you in if you’re in a weak division and sometimes you need nine if you’re in a tough division. But USUALLY, if you get to eight you get to play post season fantasy football.
If you’re looking to get a first-round bye, that traditionally takes nine or ten wins depending on the year. Although traditionally a first-round bye doesn’t lead to championship success around here. Although, that may be mostly my fault for having several of them and doing nothing with them.
*Pauses to cry*
We’re 48% of the way through the regular season, so if you’re looking to stay on ‘playoff pace’ you’d need to have at least 4 wins (technically 3.8… but you get it). Which means that the only teams on playoff pace right now are: Scott, Murkve, Justin and Myself.
Every other team in the league is below pace.
There are EIGHT more weeks in the regular season. How many of those need to be Ws for you to get to eight wins? Even Austin could still get to nine. Scott could falter and end with five. The race is still wide open.
The rest of this week’s power rankings are below! Have a great week, everyone!
