Our 2023 Champion: Corey Leak!

One Wizard has risen above them all, and his name is COREY.

The second ever third time champ was crowned this year as Corey Leak and his team, Cream Team, climbed the mountain once again becoming out 2023 League Champion.

Cream Team ended the regular season 7-7 which was enough to win the You’d Cream Division over Adam and Scott. His team was anchored by an incredible WR core of Chris Olave, Ja’Marr Chase, and CeeDee Lamb. He had the 7th best roster according to the source of all truth in our league, the Algorithm. He got into the playoffs with the 4th seed.

In the first round, Corey faced Austin Scott and Show Me Your TDs. It was a nail biter of a game with Austin’s QB (and NOT MPV) Brock Purdy putting up 33.68 points and his TEs (yes he played two, and for good reason) Njoku and McBride scoring 21.40 and 15.20 respectfully. Show Me Your TDs scored 123.18 in total. But Cream Team would not be denied. Ty Chandler scored 23.20 points and the Raiders Defense scored 29. Ultimately, Cream Team just snuck by Show Me Your TDs by about 4 points scoring 127.16

In the second round, Cream Team found themselves up against the #1 seeded team, The Z Fighters. They destroyed Bryant’s team. It wasn’t even close. 152 – 105 led by Amari Cooper who scored 46 points. Which is laughable, right? Just insane. Imagine being the owner of The Z Fighters. The sadness. The disappointment. The depression. I could never.

*the writer of this article pauses here to cry*

After two back to back wins, Cream team found themselves up againt the best team in the league, Schatz Door. Schatz Door had a historic regular season, scoring 278 more points than the league average and averaging 20 points more per week than league average. Schatz Door was the overwhelming favorite and rumor has it the team owner was already pricing out vacuums they were going to buy with the winnings. BUT ALAS, Cream Team would not go quietly. CeeDee Lamb put up 33 points. Pacheco put up 26. Jordan Love put up 34. In the end, it was too much (and Schatz Door did too little) to deny Cream Team. A new Champion was born.

And thus, we end another year of Fantasy Football the same way we’ve ended 2 years previously. With Corey Leak as our league champion. We honor Corey as one of the greatest champions in our history and his run is further proof that if you get into the post season anything can happen.
