Week Six Power Rankings: Rise of Joey

We have a new number one team in the Power Rankings this week and his name is JOEY!

It’s been a pretty good week for Joey if you think about it. Chris lost to Kyle. He won the bonus week ($80! You can buy like three new Star Wars books with that) and his Eagles… wait… they lost… to who?

Anyway, Joey is on top of the Power Rankings this week as we enter week SEVEN of the Fantasy Football year. After this week we’ll be halfway through the Fantasy Football Regular season.

I figured this would be a good chance to remind everyone that traditionally in our league you need at least EIGHT wins to make the playoffs. There have been occasions where a team has gotten into the Post Season with seven or less wins. But it’s rare. Out of the past 16 teams to make the Playoffs, 14 of those teams needed at least eight wins to get there. Kyle only needed seven wins last year and somehow Adam only needed six in 2021 because his division was HISTORICALLY bad.

But in most cases, you need eight wins to have a shot at the Trophdeez. There are eight weeks left in the regular season and four teams are at or over half way to eight wins. Chris, Nathan, Joey and Myself (who is undefeated incase you hadn’t heard). There are five teams with two or less wins and three teams right at three wins.

So figure out where you are, do the math, and then look at your remaining schedule. If you need five wins, where are those wins coming from? Are you playing the Brothers Morgan or Jensen? Maybe you’re good. Or do you have Joey and Chris coming up? Maybe you need to make some big moves now to steal some wins off the good teams?

No one is eliminated yet, but the clock is ticking pretty loud for some of us. So go out and get what you need.
