Week Five Power Rankings: Champ Rising

The Champ is rising.

Last year, the Troph-Deez TWO found it’s first home with Justin. Despite entering into the year as Champ, Justin has been kind of quiet. Until this week, when he rose three spots to cement himself as the 2nd ranked team in the Power Rankings.

In the 12 year history of our league, no one has ever repeated as Champion. The odds are stacked against you from the draft where the Champ always selects 12th and last. Justin has a core of Derrick Henry, Travis Etienne, Devante Adams, and KING Puka. His team is averaging 118 points a game which is second only to Chris in output so far this season. Could Justin be angling for a repeat championship? Should we be paying more attention to the Wreckfast Club?

On the other side of the coin, Scott and Austin (or Austin Scott) both fell two places this week after both teams suffered horrific losses. Both teams are 2-3 and balancing on the edge of “need a get right game” and “maybe I should just let CHATGPT* run my team as well.” Austin plays Joey this week and Scott plays Adam. We’ll see how that pans out.

Next, let’s talk about me. Fantasy pros gives my roster a score of 64 out of 100. Every week I’ve had a player go down from injury. I started with Chubb, Walker and Gibbs as my running backs and this week I might have to start Chubba Hubbard and freaking Justice Hill. To top it off, my Sun and Stars Justin Jefferson has gone on IR. And yet, I am 5-0. Undefeated.

Maybe Fantasy Football really is all luck. Or maybe, it’s all numbers and averages and eventually I’m gonna go on a horrible losing streak that crushes my soul. I bet I know which one you’re rooting for.

Finally, this is week six. Which means it’s BONUS WEEK. Whoever scores the most points this week will win $80! That’s so much fireball!

*Maybe you already knew this. But I learned recently that CHATGPT3 doesn’t really know anything past September 2021. So using it to manage your fantasy football team or draft one in 2023 is about the dumbest thing you can do. Unless your name is Justin. At which point you should probably use it to set your team this week. Trust.
