The time is upon us once again. The men and Joey’s of the MCATL (and friends) Fantasy Football must gather (via Zoom) to discuss business as it pertains to the upcoming Fantasy Football Year.
The 2021 League Owners meeting will happen on Sunday Night, July 18th at 8PM EST via ZOOM. The number to use to join the Zoom is in the EVITE sent to all of our phones. Jensen is tentative but is also in charge of bringing the pie.
Below is our League Owner’s Meeting Agenda:
Draft Date: First and foremost, we must decide on our Draft Night. Whatever day we choose, the Keeper Lock date will be a week before hand.
Divisions: As is our way, we’ll do a live draw for Divisions. Divisions matter in this league, as young Joseph discovered last year.
Keepers: Two years ago, we agreed to play ONE keeper for the next two years. That agreement is up as soon as this year starts. So, let’s talk about Keepers. Do we want to stick with one keeper going forward. Do we want to increase the amount of Keepers we hold onto every year? Do we (Scott) want to do away with Keepers because we (Scott) have commitment issues?
Waiver Wire: I can’t believe we have to talk about this again. A tension we had last year was the waiver wire. Our system is currently that whoever scores the least amount of points every week would get the first waiver claim. There’s no way to automatically set this in Sleeper (or any Fantasy Football platform actually) so this means I had to manually set it every week. There were a few weeks last year where Sleeper would reset the waiver order after I had already set it. Assuming that Sleeper doesn’t do this this year, are we still okay with using this system for our Waivers?
Loser’s Punishment: We need to readdress the Loser’s Punishment. Most of us (as shown in the End of Year Survey) felt like the punishment defaulting to wings every year is kind of lame. This is of no fault to Kyle, who did a great job producing WINGMAS. However, we need to talk this through and decide if this is still what we want to do or if we want to do something new this year. (I still think that the Taco Bell 5K would be great).
Year X: Finally, this is our TENTH year of Fantasy Football. Aside from following Jesus and being a Laker’s fan, I’ve played in this Fantasy Football League longer than I’ve done just about anything else in my life. Let’s talk about if we want to do something special to celebrate.
