Our 2020 Champion: Nathan Emmons

Nathan has done what no other man, woman, or Joey has done in our Leagues illustrious history; he is a THREE-time Champ!

Nathan entered the COVID with Lamar Jackson as his keeper and a team anchored by Travis Kelce at the tight end. But the rest of his team came together via a “Stars and Scrubs” approach that saw him bolster his team week after week using the waiver wire.

He finished the regular season at 8-5 and secured the South Division Crown over Bryant and Joey.

Nathan would face off against Bryant in the first round of playoffs in a matchup for the ages. The entire league watched with bated breath on Monday Night Football as Lamar Jackson exited the game and the Browns scored giving Bryant a 2-point lead over Nathan in the final two minutes of regulation.  Just when it seemed like Nathan would be out, Lamar returned and threw a stunning TD on 4th down to not only give his actual football team the win, but to also banish Bryant to the shadow realm again.

In the second round, Nathan would face off against the HOUSE OF CARDS Adam Hulme. Adam’s team had spent all year somehow winning in scenarios where it really shouldn’t have. Everyone wondered if Adam’s luck would hold, but Nathan’s team had other ideas. Nath would win 122 – 114.

Finally, in the Championship Game, Nathan would face Murkve! New Kyle had made a surprising run defeating both Corey and Chris on his way to the Championship. The game looked like it might be tight at first, but Nathan’s team would have one of it’s best performances of the year when it mattered most. Nathan would win 141 (at least) – 106.2

Nathan adds this win to his 2017, and 2014 wins to become our first ever TRIPLE CROWN CHAMPION! We honor Nathan this day and every day moving forward (at least until a new Champ is crowned).
