Congratulations to our 2016 Champion: CHRIS GOTHARD
Chris Gothard and his team Schatz Door have made HISTRORY this year as the first debuting team to ever win the Championship. Despite it being his first year in the league, Chris has proven that experience doesn’t win championships, good management does.
Chris’s team this year was led by Todd Gurley, DeMarco Murray and Drew Brees. Schatz Door finished the season with a record of 10-3 and entered the playoffs with the #1 Seed. Because of that, Chris found himself with a first round bye in the playoffs.
In the second round, Schatz Door came face to face with Comcast Customer Care. Comcast Customer Care and their owner Justin made their way into the #3 seed in the playoffs on the back of good performances by Le’Veon Bell, Spencer Ware and the ageless Larry Fitzgerald. They won their first-round matchup over Bryant’s New Favorite Team 100 – 56. They were no match for the future Champ though as Chris beat Justin 85 – 51.
In the final game of the season, Chris took on fellow newcomer Shawn and his team It Should Have Been Kory. Shawn inherited his team from the last place finisher the year before and, like Chris, was a debuting team this year. That’s right, either way the Championship would go to a first-time player. Shawn’s team was led by Aaron Rodgers and Brandin Cooks and had acquired the #2 seed in this year’s playoffs. It was an epic back and forth battle, but in the end the SCHATZ was too much for Shawn. Chris won 112 – 85.
Chris Gothard is our Champion. He is also the first recipient of the Suck it Bryant Trophdeez of Supremacy. A trophy that he will now guard for the next year. Chris is also the first person in our league to win the Champion’s Purse and walk away with actual money.
All bow before the SCHATZ!!!!!!
