This week we have TWO big matchups happening that potentially have big implications for the end of the season. We’ll start at the bottom of the standings.

I feel like every single time I write off Adam as the person who is for sure the most likely to end up as the PUNISHED at the end of the season, some other fool comes along to challenge this.
This week’s fool is Scott. The Champ. Which is probably not a position he thought he’d be in earlier this year.
Truth is, previous Champs have a really hard time in the follow up seasons after their big win. Maybe it’s having the last pick in the draft? Or maybe it’s that people are naturally less inclined to trade with you as the Champ? Or maybe having success over a long time is just really hard? Whatever it is, Scott’s having a rough season and finds himself just one win above Adam. This means that if Adam wins this week, he’ll not only match Scott’s record, he’ll actually rise up a place in the rankings due to him having the head to head tie break.
Adam is like Michael Myers. We thought Chris was going to be able to banish him to the depths of Fantasy Hell this week, but the monster won’t die and is now threatening to drown another owner so he may escape absolution.
To make things even more dire for Scott, this week is rough for his team and byes. He has four players, including Devonta Freeman and Jared Goff on bye. He’s venerable for sure.
Despite this, Scott has a 55% chance of winning this week, mostly because Adam also has two star players on bye, Robert Woods and Calvin Ridley.
Adam has been handed something few people get, another chance to screw over one of his friends and simultaneously get out of trouble. Can he capitalize?

Meanwhile, at the top of the standings, we have a very interesting matchup between Kyle Murkve and myself.
I have been dominating this league. Seriously, I’ve scored 114 more points than anyone else in this league over the past eight weeks, am on a five game win streak, and am outscoring my opponents by almost 30%. I am the terror that lives deep in your fantasy souls.
But, I’m not running away with this league. Because of my one loss (Baker Mayfield is a trash can with arms), there are two 6-2 teams who could potentially take away my throne at any moment. One of them is my Week Nine opponent, Kyle Murkve.
Murkve is a really good Fantasy Football player. I feel like not enough people here know that. Since he’s been in this league he has consistantly put up big numbers and been near the top of the standings. If I am the storm who destroys your Fantasy Dreams in a whirlwind of pain, he is the silent assassin who strikes unseen. The one you don’t worry about until it is too late.
And if he beats me this week, he’ll be the #1 team in the league and hold the tiebreak over me.
This game is a big deal and could have serious consequences on Playoff Seeding and momentum heading into the back third of the season.
Neither one of our teams have significant Bye Week issues, so we’re playing each other at full strength. I currently have a 59% chance of winning.
